Chelsea's Ethan Ampadu to miss rest of season after fracturing ankle

Chelsea starlet Ethan Ampadu is expected to miss the rest of the season
after suffering a fractured ankle. The 17-year-old suffered the injury
while playing in Chelsea's 4-2 win over Real Madrid in the Uefa Youth
League last week.

Ampadu had been called up for Wales to play in the China Cup during the
current international break only for the Welsh Football Association to
reveal the teenager had withdrawn a few days ago.

No reason was given at the time, but Chelsea have confirmed to Standard
Sport that it is due to Ampadu suffering a fractured ankle and he is
doubtful to play again this term.

The news has come as a huge blow to the youngster, who joined from Exeter
City last summer. He has made seven appearances, including four starts,
for Chelsea's senior side this term and is highly rated by coach Antonio
Conte.

Ampadu, who has played in defence and midfield, also earned his first two
