Short of building a dam, you cannot control the flow of water as it courses
through a stream. If you stand in the middle of it, it will flow around you.
The same thing can be said for contention in a relationship. You may not be
able to control the flow of a conversation in a forceful way. But if you "go
with the flow," you stand a great chance of getting somewhere. If you are
dealing with a difficult issue now - and perhaps with a difficult person -
