JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title:
Actuarial Manager/Actuary, Business Development
Reporting to:
General Manager
Responsibilities:
‧ Assist in formulating and executing the strategy to generate reinsurance
opportunities with assigned clients
- Assist in developing and maintaining a thorough plan for all accounts and
execution of plans and strategy
- Contribute fully in the development of RGA Taiwan strategy including
preparation work and participation in all brainstorming sessions
‧ Participate in IFRS 4 Phase II project
- Research, study related topics and develop feasible solutions in order to
play an important role in this project.
- Coordinate and cooperate with other function leaders who participate in
this project.
- Communicate with internal and external consultants with regard to the IFRS
standards and reinsurance arrangement.
- Convey ideas and reinsurance arrangement to counterparts at clients
companies.
‧ Maintain current market knowledge
- Research, analyze, and develop new products and solutions for insurance
company
- Stay up to date on local insurance standards
- Stay up to date on local insurance regulations with regard to reinsurance
- Stay up to date on the leading products in each of the distribution
channels and share this knowledge with others.
‧ Assist in execution of reinsurance deals
- Assist in negotiating and structuring reinsurance agreements which reflect
client and RGA business objectives.
- Manage and develop the projects by working with local colleagues, client,
regulators, Head Office in an effective and efficient manner.
‧ Communicate regularly with necessary internal and external associates and
clients
- Communicate/meet regularly with counterparts at clients companies
- Work closely as a team with colleagues in Taiwan and with other marketers.
‧ Others
- Support in pricing work, product development work and treaty wording as
assigned
- Lead or assist in organization of marketing event
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
‧ Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or
related field.
‧ Close to qualified or qualified fellows with at least 7 years working
experience in life insurance industry
‧ Working experience in valuation or financial reporting fields is preferred.
‧ Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills
‧ Knowledge of life insurance valuation regimes in Taiwan and IFRS 4 phase
II is preferred.
‧ Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese
