Francisco Lindor and Jeff McNeil had a heated confrontation last season, just th
e latest friction between the teammates in what has been a turbulent Mets relati
onship.

After a defensive lapse on June 20 in Philadelphia, an angry Lindor at some poi
nt began verbally attacking McNeil, according to a source, leading to what was d
escribed as a tense standoff between the two. The Mets lost their seventh straig
ht that night — an initial stretch of futility that indicated maybe something w
as amiss with a team that had surged a season-high 21 games above .500 just over
a week earlier.

There is no indication this latest known incident between the two turned physic
al. That is unlike in 2021, when an argument between the two sparked by a defens
ive letdown spilled over into the runway between the dugout and clubhouse. The P
ost later reported that Lindor grabbed McNeil by the throat and pinned him again
st a wall.

Another clubhouse source indicated that relations between Lindor and Juan Soto
were chilly, following the latter’s arrival on a record $765 million contract.
"Soto is very businesslike — all business, no fluff," the source said. "He wan
ts to come to the yard and work his tail off and win games. He's not into fashio
n or any of that other stuff. Lindor is into that. It's just two different perso
nalities."

dentified as captain material, seemed to lose some of his grasp on the clubhouse

Soto hardly dispelled that notion with his assertion late in the season that St
arling Marte was the team captain.
"[Marte] is literally the leader of this team — I feel like he's actually the
captain of this team," Soto said. "He's bringing everybody together. He's bringi
ng the energy we need. He's a guy who was been stepping up every single time."

棒球通常是个人实力为主但你打了4只全垒打也可能队友太烂没人上垒而输球团队气氛真的会影响比赛

Soto算不错了吧，虽然不会激励队友，但至少不会当大哥搞气氛
