college football, saying, “I never bet on baseball. That’s 100 percent. I
knew that rule.” But why should anyone blindly accept the word of a man who
renounced his own story?

to imagine him using his inside knowledge to bet on baseball in an attempt to
escape his debt. Perhaps the federal investigation of Bowyer will turn up
more information on Mizuhara’s gambling choices. Or perhaps the league will
need to find out on its own.
