2019大联盟年度新秀选拔会今天登场，30年后再度手握状元签的巴尔的摩金莺队，以第一
指名选择了奥勒冈州大的捕手Adley Rutschman，而这也是金莺队继2007年的Matt
Wieters之后，再度以首轮签挑选捕手入队。

跟Wieters一样左右开弓的Rutschman，目前为止在大学联赛的表现可用“宰制”来形容。
本季目前出赛57场比赛，Rutschman缴出平均.411/.575/.751的打击三围、17发全垒打的
优异成绩，在被保送次数及上垒率都在联盟中领跑，且仅仅只被三振38次，显示他是位攻
击及选球能力兼备的打者。此外，Rutschman在捕手守位上的阻杀能力也是有目共睹，而
深具领导者气息的特质也十分受到球探们的肯定。

去年底接任金莺总裁的Mike Elias，也谈到了球团今日的决定：“状元签是个重大的决定
，需要透过分析所有待选球员、做出球队长期发展最有利的选择，我们都非常期待接下来
的发展。”
大联盟前一次由捕手成为选秀状元，要追溯到2001年双城的Joe Mauer。
