The Blue Jays took the baseball world by surprise on Monday morning by
agreeing to terms with free-agent catcher Russell Martin, according to a
source.
The deal, first reported by Peter Gammons, is pending a physical and would
net Martin $82 million over five years, according to FoxSports.com. The
signing has not been announced and the Blue Jays have not commented on it.
