The Argentina international defender joins AC Milan on a permanent deal,
signing a four-year contract
Mateo Musacchio is a new AC Milan player. After undergoing his medicals on
Monday, at the Clinica La Madonnina, the former Villarreal centre-back today
was at Milanello Sports Centre and then at Casa Milan where he signed a
contract until 30 June 2021. The official statement:

PLAYER PROFILE
Mateo Pablo Musacchio was born in Rosario, Argentina, on 26 August 1990.
Albanian of origin, the former Villarreal defender has also an Italian
passport (being his grandparents from Portocannone, a town near Campobasso).
He is a very physical centre back - 180 cm, 73 kg - has great character and
is very agile. The Argentinian is very good in marking and blocking the ball,
likes to start the move and to play short passes.
His career started when he was 16 years old when he got promoted to River
Plate's first team. Mateo played with the Millionarios for three seasons,
recording 11 appearances and winning the Clausura in 2008. In 2009, his
transfer to Villarreal. He makes his La Liga debut on February 2010 - in a
2-1 win over Athletic Bilbao - and went on to become the Captain of the
Yellow Submarine: in Spain, overall, he has recorded 249 appearances and
scored 7 goals, in league and cup games.
Musacchio has recorded six caps with Argentina, making his debut against
Nigeria in a friendly match on 1 June 2011, while he made his latest
appearance against Bolivia, in the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers. In the 2016/17
season, he played 23 games for a total of 2067 minutes.
