The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is a prestigious institution ranked
#133 in the 2022 QS World University Rankings and highly regarded as a top
young university globally. UTS boasts an impressive standing in the field of
AI research, ranking third globally according to the 2022 U.S. News Best
Global Universities ranking, and tenth worldwide and first in Australia in
the AI Research Index by Korea's Software Policy and Research Institute.
We are seeking enthusiastic PhD students with a background in robotics, fuzzy
systems, reinforcement learning algorithms, generative models, or
brain-computer interface, and well-versed in mathematics and programming
languages, with good analytical skills and problem-solving skills. Our team
leader is Distinguished Professor Chin-Teng Lin, who is currently the
Co-Director of the Australian Artificial Intelligence Institute (AAII) at
UTS, and the Director of the Computational Intelligence and Brain Computer
Interface (CIBCI) Lab. Professor Lin's research focuses on artificial
intelligence, human-autonomy interaction, and brain-computer interface, with
applications in manufacturing, transportation, health, and finance.
