Good morning, due to unforeseen circumstances two of our admitted cohort
for fall 2018 have withdrawn. I am reaching out to you given your role
to see if you know of any specific students (perhaps Master's students
you've worked with who may be looking to continue their education) that
may be in a position to apply. I would like to personally reach out to
qualified students who might be a good fit for our program to tell them
what we have to offer. Qualified students are offered up to four years
of funding, including full tuition and fees waiver.
We have a number of funded and emerging policy related research areas,
including work on state policy evaluations (opioids), healthcare access,
quality and costs, health system disparities, cancer prevention and control,
economic and systems modeling and behavioral economics, to name a few areas.
We also have both national datasets the department has invested in and unique
state and local data that are available for student projects.
Our aim is to train exceptional independent researchers and our graduates
have had great success, winning awards for their research (AcademyHealth and
William & Mary Graduate Research Symposium) and finding employment as faculty
and post-docs or in private research positions.
If you know of students who might be interested, I'd appreciate it if you
would pass this message along to them. If it would be helpful to talk more
