WNBA球星Brittney Griner已经被俄罗斯拘留超过4个月了，但没有NBA球员或球队为其发声。
一开始是美国政府的要求，两个联盟高层与球队一齐缄默，因为他们认为这样有助于带回Griner
但随着美国各地开始游行，目前还没有NBA球星公开参与支持活动。

因为WNBA长期的低薪（最高薪为20万美金），导致球星需要去俄罗斯、中国或是土耳其打工（WNBA的球季刚好与以上三者错开）以赚取超过10倍于美国本土的薪水
而Griner为俄罗斯女篮效率的时候，被俄罗斯当局因为持有毒品被逮捕。
而Griner已经认罪，根据当地法律。可能面临超过10年的有期徒刑。
