依照FIBA规定：

3-23 A player who has played in a main official competition of FIBA
(see article 2-1) after having reached his seventeenth (17) birthday
may not play for a national team of another country.
双（多）重国籍球员，在满17岁之后一旦替一国在FIBA主要官方赛事中出赛，
就不能再替另一个国家出赛了。
KI 在2012 2016奥运、及2014 FIBA世界杯中替美国队出赛了，所以不能代表澳洲
FIBA规定中有个特例条款，若一球员满17岁后替某国出赛过，却想回头效力自己的
母国(country of origin)，那必须在FIBA秘书长考量认定这样会有利其母国篮球
发长之下，授权开此特例才行。
KI是在澳洲出生，若他16岁前有持过澳洲护照，澳洲就可视为其母国，但是必须要
FIBA秘书长认定他改加入澳洲国家队会对澳洲篮球发展有利，才能开特例授权KI转队。
但是这种特例一般不会去开，澳洲并不是没了KI篮球界就没人了，就算KI有此意愿，
也难以说服FIBA。
