Latest on George's Timeline for Return
Friday, Nov. 25
The Pacers announced George will miss the team's next three games.
George Gives Pacers One of NBA's Most Versatile Playmakers
George suffered an ankle injury earlier in the season and missed the majority
of the 2014-15 campaign with a gruesome leg injury.
However, he played 81 games last season and averaged 23.1 points, 7.0
rebounds and 4.1 assists per game as Indiana's leader on the floor.
Indiana can't realistically expect any one individual to replicate George's
production while he is out, but it does have a handful of wing players who
can carry more of the load. Monta Ellis, C.J. Miles, Rodney Stuckey and
Robinson can all fill in for George at times, and Myles Turner is a
blossoming talent down low.
The Pacers have enough talent to tread water while George recovers from this
ailment, but they need him back and healthy if they want to realistically
challenge the Cleveland Cavaliers and the rest of the postseason contenders
in the Eastern Conference.
