John Gibbons' second stint as manager of the Blue Jays has come to an end.
John Gibbons第二次在蓝鸟队担任总教练的时代，将在近期画下休止符。
The team on Wednesday announced it will part ways with Gibbons at the
conclusion of the 2018 season.
因为蓝鸟球团已经在周三正式宣布，他们将在球季结束后与Gibbons结束合作关系。
"Ultimately what we’ve decided is that John (Gibbons) will not be returning
as our manager," Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins said.
蓝鸟队总管Ross Atkins在记者会上证实了这则消息“我们已经决定John (Gibbons)
明年不会回来带领球队了。”
Gibbons had a sense of humor about the move as he joked: "We kept that secret
pretty good, didn’t we?"
Gibbons在记者会上倒是展现出了幽默感︰“我们应该有把这个事情保密的很好吧，
对吧？”
It had been reported earlier this month that Gibbons and Atkins spoke
multiple times about plans for the future, and Gibbons' departure was "99.9
percent done."
事实上，早在月初，Gibbons与Atkins两人就对球队的未来协商过很多次，这也早就
让Gibbons离职，变成“99.9%会发生的事”。
The report noted the front office could be interested in following the MLB
trend toward younger managers when it comes to determining a replacement.
最近的报导更指出球团在寻找新教练的工作上，更倾向跟寻MLB的趋势，那就是让
比较年轻的人来带兵。
Gibbons, 56, has managed the Blue Jays since 2013, leading the team to the
American League Championship Series in 2015 and 2016. But Toronto (71-87
entering play Wednesday) will finish with a second consecutive losing season
and the front office apparently is ready for a change.
现年56岁的Gibbons，在2013年重新加入蓝鸟队，并且将球队连续两年(2015-16)带入
美联冠军赛。然而近年，蓝鸟队确定连续两年以不到五成的胜率收尾，却确立了高层
准备改变的决心。
Gibbons previously managed the Blue Jays from 2004-08, beginning as interim
manager after Carlos Tosca was fired.
文章前面有提到这并不是Gibbons第一次执掌蓝鸟队的兵符，其实他从2004年就先以
代理总教练的身分，取代被开除的Carlos Tosca，并带兵到2008年了。
He has an overall record of 791-782 (.501).
把他在这两段时期的战绩合算起来，他在这超过一千场球赛带兵的胜率仍有超过五
成。
