I am Korean and watched his pitching for a long time.
In 2011, he pitched only 126innings because of sore sholder muscle.
He has low BB rate but his control is not that good because in Korea, hitters
can't hit against Ryu even he pitch right down the middle. Just think about
Dice-K. He had low BB rate in Japan but after he came to US, MLB hitters
could hit against Matsuzaka so he started to nibble.
Also, Korean baseball has huge strike zone.
Ryu throws four seam fastball(he cant throw cutter or two seamer) which grade
is 45 in 20-80 scale.50 curve and plus changeup and 40 slider according to
one ML scout who visited Korea to scout him.
Since he's a flyball pitcher and I don't see him as a K-machine at Major
League level. He will not fit in Fenway.
