Drew Storen ←→ Denard Span ???
According to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal, the Nationals may be willing to part
with closer Drew Storen in order to acquire outfielder Denard Span from the
Twins.
The Twins seem to overvalue late-innings relievers, especially those from the
Nationals' system, but it may take more than Storen to get a deal done for
the young and productive Span. Storen, 23, has a 2.37 ERA and 0.93 WHIP in 49
1/3 innings this season. Span has been on the disabled list for a while with
a concussion, but is a .289 career hitter, plays quality defense in center
field and remains under team control through at least 2014 at a reasonable
rate.
