The Los Angeles Times' Mike DiGiovanna reports that the Angels' offer to
Adrian Beltre is for five years and $70 million.
DiGiovanna adds that the Halos are not likely to increase the offer even
though Beltre reportedly is wanting a six-year, $90 million contract. It's
really hard to see him getting much more than what the Angels are dangling in
front of him, even in this market. Beltre would be 37 in the last season of a
five-year deal, so giving him an additional year would be awfully risky. The
Angels are the odds-on favorite to land him at this point.
