The Los Angles have benched starting point guard Jeremy Lin as the team
desperately attempts to fight its way back from the doldrums of a 5-15 start.

First-year coach Byron Scott announced on Sunday both Lin and veteran power
forward Carlos Boozer will be heading to the bench, replaced by Ronnie Price
and Ed Davis.

Scott told NBCLA.com. “I think Ed’s energy is contagious. He comes in and
he brings a different element. And I think it’s the same with Ronnie. They
think the defensive end of the floor first, and right now, that’s what we
need.

Lin struggled mightily in running the team’s offense from the point guard

loss to the rival Celtics. Rondo’s 16 assists were more than the entire
Lakers’ team and Lin finished with as many turnovers (2) as he assists.
