美国漫画年度盛事之一的恩斯纳奖(Eisner Award；名字是为了向漫画大师Will Eisner致
意)在5/2号当天公布了2017年的入围名单。这个奖项经常被戏称为漫画版本的奥斯卡，说
明了恩斯纳奖对于欧美图文创作者的重要性。美国漫画创作的分工性质与客群的多元性也
反映在恩斯纳奖项类别的繁多上；除了针对不同类别的出版品授奖外，编剧、上色师、铅
笔稿、填字、墨印等等都有各自的授奖单元。读者可能会困惑为什么DC和Marvel这两家欧
美大厂的出版品获得提名的比例没有他们想像中高，但无须为此感到意外，因为美国
漫画庞大的市场、悠久的历史其实早已足够支持各式各样的出版品；而从另一个角度来说
，漫画销量从来不是看待作品价值的唯一指标。
恩斯纳奖从创办以来就与动漫族群熟悉的圣地牙哥国际漫画大会(San Diego Comic-Con
International，简称SDCC)有着非常密切的关系。这个奖项的前身事实上是1985年到87年
颁布的克比奖(Kirby Award；名字是为了向漫画大师Jack Kirby致意)；在当时，克比奖
是由一家名为Fantagraphics Books的出版厂商负责，SDCC除了在大会时程内规划颁奖活
动外并没有多做些什么事情。克比奖只颁发了两年，就随着创办者Dave Olbrich离开
Fantagraphics Books而迎来了终点。为了填补克比奖的空缺，离职的Dave Olbrich与
Fantagraphics Books随后各自开办了一个新的奖项，从此之后，恩斯纳奖与哈维奖
(Harvey Award；名字是为了向卡通画家Harvey Kurtzman致意)就诞生了。恩斯纳奖的头
两年依然是由Dave Olbrich筹画，但到了1990年以后，因为Olbrich的外务增加，SDCC尝试
与Olbrich达成协议，让主办方改由SDCC的内部成员担任；从此之后SDCC就一直同时肩
负著规划恩斯纳奖的实际颁奖活动与奖项评选的工作。
许多敏感的读者应该能够嗅出这之中的不对劲：为什么克比奖结束之后，会演变成两个奖
而不是一个奖呢？这之中的确有一些争议存在，不过对于这些争议，本文不默认立场。倒
是Dave Olbrich本人曾经在自己的网站上写过数篇文章回忆当年发生的事情，读者若有兴
趣，可以前往一读。
今年的恩斯纳奖最受瞩目的创作者并不是早已靠太空歌剧Saga和以及奇幻冒险故事Paper
Girls拿奖拿到手软的编剧Brian K. Vaughan，而是以一己之力获得六项大奖提名的华裔
创作者Sonny Liew。Sonny Liew出生于马来西亚，后来受教于新加坡，并前往英国的剑桥
大学克莱尔学院(Clare College in Cambridge University)攻读哲学，美国的罗德岛设
计学院(Rhode Island School of Design)学习插画。Sonny Liew的入围作品” The Art
of Charlie Chan Hock Chye”(陈福财的美术)由他本人包办了作品的美术设计与故事，
是一本复杂的后设漫画：作者创造了一名虚构的新加坡漫画家陈福财，并且透过这名虚构
漫画家被假想出来的一生，以及他那些被假想出来的美术创作，讨论新加坡的历史，以及
漫画艺术在新加坡的定位。该书在新加坡出版时因为其敏感内容而激起广大的讨论，并在
美国出版后获得了热烈的好评。
除了The Art of Charlie Chan Hock Chye之外，获得了次多项提名(四项提名)的作品是
Image出版社的Saga以及Kill or Be Killed；两部作品同样都入围了最佳连载中作品、最
佳编剧、最佳封面设计与最佳上色。由女作家Marjorie Liu和日裔女画家 Sana Takeda合
作的Monstress同样有不俗的表现，入围了最佳青少年出版品，最佳画家与最佳封面设计
。
出版商的表现上，今年的奖项大多由Fantagraphics和Image两家公司的作品瓜分了，DC、
Marvel、黑马、IDW、阿奇等公司则居于人后。Fantagraphics的作品共获得了二十项的提
名，Image的作品则获得了十七项提名以及四项分享提名。
